Compare Co-Packing Methods and Project Paths

Choose by production method

How does your product need to be made?

The production method depends on the formula, intended storage, package, fill size, and applicable process requirements. A Project Fit Review is the starting point; the method is not selected from a product name alone.

These method pages explain the practical differences between our primary wet- and dry-production capabilities.

Wet production

Hot-fill food co-packing

For qualifying sauces, hot sauces, marinades, pickles, and related products using a reviewed hot-fill process and compatible package.

  • Typical starting point around 40 gallons
  • Compatible formats from about 0.5 fl oz to 5-gallon buckets
  • Required production sample before a full run

Dry production

Dry blending and dry filling

For qualifying seasonings, dry mixes, and related dry products that need blending, filling, labeling, sealing, lot coding, or case packing.

  • Typical starting point around 60 pounds
  • Bottles, flat bags, zipper pouches, and bag-in-box
  • Formats from about 1 ounce to 25 pounds

Important: Ingredient, packaging, supplier, product, and equipment requirements may increase either typical starting quantity.

What kind of help does your project need?

Some buyers arrive with a proven commercial product, some have a restaurant or home recipe that needs production preparation, and others want to begin with an existing private-label recipe. Each path requires different decisions and approvals.

Clear qualification

Good-fit guidance saves everyone time

We review recipe, process, package, quantity, sourcing, allergen, and storage requirements before accepting a project. That review may identify changes that are needed—or confirm that the product is not a fit for this facility.

Often worth reviewing

Current supported categories

Sauces, hot sauces, marinades, pickles, seasonings, dry mixes, selected private-label recipes, and qualifying energy-gel projects subject to classification and regulatory review.

Not currently a fit

Current exclusions

Refrigerated or frozen finished products, dairy-based products, meat-containing products requiring USDA oversight, alcoholic beverages, and cold-filled products without an acceptable validated process.

Buyer questions

Choosing the right co-packing path

These answers describe typical fit and workflow. Your recipe, package, sourcing requirements, and production plan are reviewed before acceptance.

Ask about your project
Which Small Batch Co-Pack service should I start with?

Start with the product-category page if you are deciding whether a sauce, hot sauce, seasoning, or dry mix may fit. Use the hot-fill or dry-production page for manufacturing-method details, the private-label page for existing recipes, and the recipe-to-production page if your own formula needs commercialization support.

Do I need to know whether my product is hot-fill or dry-fill?

No. Describe the product, intended storage, package, and current recipe status in the Project Fit Review. The team will evaluate the likely production path and identify what additional review or testing may be needed.

Does every submitted project get accepted?

No. Acceptance depends on recipe, process, package, quantity, ingredient and packaging availability, allergen fit, storage requirements, equipment compatibility, and schedule. Pricing and timing are confirmed only through a signed quote.

Can finished inventory be stored and fulfilled after production?

Yes, when the product and service arrangement qualify. Eligible inventory can transfer into Small Batch 3PL for storage and fulfillment, or it can be prepared for pickup, freight, another warehouse, or another 3PL.
