Production to replenishment

Fewer handoffs between the factory and the warehouse

When eligible finished inventory moves directly from Small Batch Co-Pack into Small Batch 3PL, the connected workflow can reduce handoffs and support connected inventory, fulfillment, lot-code traceability, and replenishment workflows.

The exact services, charges, integrations, approvals, and responsibilities are defined by the applicable Co-Pack and 3PL agreements.

  1. 01

    Complete production

The approved co-pack run is manufactured, finished, lot identified, checked, and released according to the project requirements.

  2. 02

    Transfer eligible inventory

Finished goods move into Small Batch 3PL under the agreed receiving and inventory setup rather than being sent to another provider.

  3. 03

    Store and track inventory

Available tools include inventory visibility, alert levels, lot-code traceability, portal messaging, and connected channel data.

  4. 04

    Fulfill customer orders

The 3PL can support qualifying direct-to-consumer, wholesale, retail, and Amazon/FBA preparation workflows.

  5. 05

    Monitor thresholds

Configured alert levels identify when inventory is approaching the point at which another production decision is needed.

  6. 06

    Start the next co-pack request

Depending on customer settings, a threshold can create a quote request automatically or hold it for customer approval.

A finished-goods example

Rolling Pin Bakehouse: labeled cases at the production handoff

The existing Rolling Pin Bakehouse customer photograph shows labeled product cases arranged on a pallet. This is a useful view of the finished-goods stage: case identification and pallet preparation need to align with the next destination.

For an eligible combined-service project, the next steps are inventory setup, transfer into storage, and fulfillment under the agreed Co-Pack and 3PL scope. The photograph documents the customer’s finished cases; it does not establish which fulfillment services this customer uses.

Plan your handoff

Connect the case pack to the order flow

A wholesale order may ship full cases, while a consumer order may require individual units. The production package and case configuration should support the fulfillment arrangement you choose.

Production + fulfillment decisions

Choose the order flow before choosing the warehouse setup

A retail case, a consumer parcel, and an Amazon-bound shipment need different preparation. Define the selling unit, case pack, barcode or SKU, lot-code handling, and destination requirements while the production package is being selected.

Launch checklist

What needs to be ready for a direct transfer?

Plan the handoff before production is finished so released goods can enter the agreed inventory workflow with the right identifiers and handling instructions.

Product setup

One consistent SKU record

Confirm the SKU, product name, unit barcode, units per case, finished-goods dimensions, and weight for each selling configuration.

Inventory control

Lot and storage requirements

Define lot-code information, applicable date coding, storage conditions, and any project-specific release or handling requirements.

Order readiness

Sales channels and shipping rules

Confirm the channel connection, order types, destinations, packaging, shipment updates, and the staff contact for exceptions.

Available capabilities

Fulfillment options depend on the product and sales channels

Small Batch 3PL is the dedicated source for full warehousing and fulfillment details. The capabilities below describe the connection from the co-packing project—not an unrestricted promise for every product, marketplace, retailer, or international destination.

Qualifying service arrangements may include direct-to-consumer shipments, wholesale or retail orders, and Amazon/FBA preparation.

Connections

Direct sales-channel integrations

Choose the right destination

Using Small Batch 3PL is optional

A co-packing customer may choose internal transfer to Small Batch 3PL, pickup, palletized freight, another warehouse, or another 3PL. The best option depends on sales channels, inventory strategy, freight, receiving requirements, and the customer's existing operation.

Internal transfer

Current receiving-fee treatment

Under current terms, receiving fees are waived for eligible inventory transferred directly from Small Batch Co-Pack into Small Batch 3PL. The applicable quote and service agreement control.

Another destination

Pickup or outbound freight

Finished goods can be prepared for customer pickup or freight to another warehouse or 3PL. Outside freight and destination receiving fees may apply.

Important: No savings amount is guaranteed. Freight, storage, fulfillment, channel, receiving, and special-service costs depend on the chosen workflow and agreement.

U.S.-based operations

A domestic manufacturing and fulfillment path for international brands

International brands can use Small Batch Co-Pack for qualifying U.S.-based manufacturing and Small Batch 3PL for qualifying U.S. storage and fulfillment. Freight and export support are evaluated case by case.

This is not a promise of unrestricted worldwide shipping or export service. Product classification, importing, labeling, tax, marketplace, freight, and destination requirements remain project-specific.
